Tavily
Runtime web search that supplies the "why now" and the marketplace check.
Tavily is called at runtime, on every trend research, not only during development.
What it does
packages/core/src/trends.ts (createTrends, tavilyClient) uses Tavily to:
- Moment. For each Qloo theme, search the past week's news and return sources. This is the "why now" shown on an idea.
- Saturation. Search marketplaces (etsy.com, redbubble.com, fourthwall.com) for matching listings. Few matches score higher.
Web text is untrusted: the ideas carry their source links, and the model prompts tell Nemotron to treat idea text as data only.
Configuration
TAVILY_API_KEY=...Without the key, the research step fails with a NOT_CONFIGURED error naming the variable.
